General Scholarship Information

Savannah AMBUCS awards scholarships to students pursuing graduate degrees in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology.  To date, more than $150,000 in scholarships have been awarded.

Scholarship Requirements & Qualifications

• Students must be US citizens accepted in a graduate-level program that is accredited by the appropriate therapy profession authority in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology. 

• Assistant or undergraduate programs are not eligible.

• Awards are based on commitment to the local community, character for compassion and integrity, academic excellence, and career objectives.

• Students must be from Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, or Liberty County or are currently enrolled in Georgia Southern’s Speech, Physical, or Occupational Therapy program.    

• Students must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average. 

 

*Select scholarship recipients may be eligible for a National AMBUC Scholarship.

Students must submit all portions of their application before the April 3rd deadline. The online application will allow students to save their work and return it at a later time.

In addition to filling out the application, the student will be required to upload:

• Proof of enrollment into an accredited program 

• Most recent college transcript

• Reference Letter (former professor, employer, community organization, etc…) and

• One-page personal statement
