How one Amtryke inspired an Entrepreneur and facilitated success.
Four and a half years ago, Savannah Ambucs member Kevin Sheehan was in Darien, Ga. attending the Benedictine vs. McIntosh Academy football game. Before sitting down he decided to visit the concession stand and on his way, he met the Howell family. After noticing Will Howell’s struggles to walk, he approached the family and told them about Savannah Ambucs and our Amtryke 3-wheel specially adapted bike program. He explained how the process worked and the Howells were overjoyed to hear there was a way Will could finally ride a bike. On January 19th, 2015 he happily received his Amtryke.
Upon graduating in May 2019, Will made a visit to his pediatrician, Dr. Ben Spitalnik. Dr. Ben told Will and his family that he needed a purpose, not just a job. They began researching various ideas and realized Will’s love of suit ties was something he was very passionate about. Ties do more than just give Will something to do, they make him happy and proud while providing a sense of purpose. As you can see in the video, Will uses his Amtryke to ride to the post office every day and mail his packages. Inspiringly enough, when he started his business, Will Power Ties, he committed to give back 5% of his proceeds to Savannah Ambucs as a way to show appreciation for all they have done for him.

The 2020 Bowlapalooza is headed your way. Bowlapalooza, created in 2012, has grown to be one of the best and most enjoyable FUNdraisers in Savannah. We recruit local Celebrities (business people, high schoolers, media personalities, etc.) to raise money and bowl with our Ambuc Bowlers. The 2020 Vaden Nissan Savannah Ambucs Celebrity Bowlapalooza kickoff event and auction will be held on June 18th, 2020 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Alee Temple in Savannah. The 2020 Bowlpalooza main event will be held on September 26th from 9 am until noon at AMF Savannah Lanes off Tibet Avenue. Come join the fun!!!
